The iconic singer songwriter, Prince has sadly passed away at his Paisley Park studio in America, earlier on Thursday morning.
Carver County Chief Deputy, Jason Kamerud, told Fox 9 that they responded to a medical call at the stars home around 9.43 am, although the cause of death is not yet clear.
Entertainment website TMZ who first broke the story, reported that Prince was found in an elevator at Paisley Park. Even though CPR was performed, they were sadly unable to revive him, and he was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:07 AM Central Time.
The sad news comes just a week after his private plane made an emergency landing at Quad City International Airport, in Illinois, whilst he was battling a “bad case of the flu”, as it was reported at the time.
Launching his career in 1978 with the debut album “For You”, Prince Rogers Nelson went on to release over 39 albums, as well as 3 more under the guise of The New Power Generation during the 90’s.
